Structural crisis in the residential real estate market continues

Germany will lack around two million new apartments by 2026 and there is no relief in sight, said Dieter Becken at a press conference entitled "Does Germany need a housing miracle?", which was attended by the companies Becken, Catella Residential Investment Management, DLE Land Development and PREA and organized by the Berlin-based consultancy Rueckerconsult.

Becken celebrates topping-out ceremony for "CURVE" office building in Düsseldorf city center

The shell is in place: In downtown Düsseldorf, Becken, specialist for project development, revitalization, asset and investment management of commercial and residential real estate, celebrated the traditional topping-out ceremony for the "CURVE" together with the construction company Dreßler and the guest of honor, district mayor Dietmar Wolf, today. The six-story office building fills a gap in the Helmholtzstrasse near Düsseldorf's main train station and within walking distance of Königsallee. With around 7,000 of a total of around 10,800 square meters, the majority of the building has been leased to the North Rhine-Westphalia consumer advice center. The building is ready for occupancy as planned at the end of 2024.

Revitalized existing Becken building becomes new INDUSTRIA headquarters

INDUSTRIA, the investment manager specializing in residential real estate, is moving into a revitalized existing building of the Becken Group within Frankfurt. The recently concluded lease agreement is a green lease with a term of ten years. The move is expected to take place in the first half of 2024. INDUSTRIA will give up its current location in Bockenheim in the IBC at Theodor-Heuss-Allee 74. The leased space covers 4,365 square meters.

Becken and the Protestant Church plan architectural competition for the Matthäus-Areal in Frankfurt am Main

Becken, a specialist in project development, revitalization, asset and investment management of commercial and residential real estate, and HanseMerkur Grundvermögen AG (HMG) celebrated the completion of the shell of their Munich "Fabrik Office" with the symbolic hoisting of the topping-out wreath. The joint venture between Becken and HMG is building the multi-tenant office property with a total of around 21,000 square meters of leasable space in Munich's southern Obersendling district by the first quarter of 2024. The design by OLIV Architekten sets an urban accent at the corner of Steinerstrasse and Tölzer Strasse.

Becken buys existing property in Berlin-Lichtenberg

The real estate and investment company Becken, a specialist in the development, realization and long-term asset, sales and investment management of commercial and residential properties, is continuing its involvement in the Berlin real estate market with the purchase of the existing property "RingCenter III". Becken reports full occupancy of new ConneXion Office building in Hamburg

Jens Hogekamp succeeds Dominik Tenhumberg as Managing Director of Becken Development GmbH

Dominik Tenhumberg resigned from his position as Managing Director of Becken Development GmbH at his own request at the end of March and left the Becken Group in agreement with Dieter Becken in order to devote himself to new tasks. After joining the company in 2013, he had been responsible for the management of Becken Development GmbH since 2016. He will be succeeded as of April 1 by Jens Hogekamp, who has already been in charge of the Asset Management division in the Becken Group since 2017.

The Hamburg real estate market in 2023: Office remains solid, but residential faces major challenges

The long-lasting real estate boom of the past twelve years is over - in Hamburg as well as throughout Germany. Rising interest rates, high inflation, disrupted supply chains, and increasing sustainability requirements are creating enormous challenges for the real estate industry. Many market participants are unsettled, investors are becoming more risk averse, and financiers are acting more cautiously. Nevertheless, the Hamburg office market is in robust shape. Stable prime rents, high take-up and low vacancy rates indicate that the office market in the Hanseatic city remains highly attractive.

Becken buys office building in Munich and plans extensive ESG repositioning

The owner-managed Hamburg real estate and investment company Becken has returned the first capital to its investors via its company BECKEN Invest for the mezzanine debt fund REPE 1.
