Hamburg, January 23, 2018 - The real estate company Becken, a specialist in the development and realization as well as long-term asset and investment management of commercial and residential properties, is bundling its investment management and funds division in a newly founded company, Becken Invest GmbH. Prof. Dr. Michael Becken, Managing Director of Becken Holding GmbH, will become Managing Director of the new company and will focus on the positioning and expansion of the new business division. Becken is also appointing the experienced fund manager Kai Stolzenberg to the management board of Becken Invest as of January 1, 2018.
Prof. Dr. Michael Becken comments: "The establishment of our new business division enables us to implement individual investment and fund concepts. With Kai Stolzenberg, we have gained an experienced fund manager as a member of the management board." The 39-year-old business graduate has around ten years of experience in the real estate fund business. Most recently, he worked at PATRIZIA GewerbeInvest KVG and before that at HGA Capital Grundbesitz und Anlage GmbH, a subsidiary of HSH Real Estate AG, as a senior fund manager and fund manager respectively. In future, he will work with Prof. Dr. Michael Becken to develop the investment and fund business.

With the new company, Becken intends to launch real estate funds for institutional investors in the future. Both the company's own project developments and selected existing properties can be invested in the funds. Prof. Dr. Michael Becken explains: "We want to tap into additional investor target groups step by step. We have successfully set the course for this in recent months by establishing our own Investment Management division and bundling it in a new investment company. This is an important step for us in expanding our business model and diversifying it in the course of further growth."
After Prof. Dr. Michael Becken built up the Asset Management division from 2012 to 2015, his previous area of responsibility was strategically focused on the management of the parent company, Becken Holding GmbH: "In future, I will focus on building up our new division, the investment and fund business, as I did previously for Asset Management. For this reason, I will be stepping down as Managing Director of Becken Holding GmbH until further notice," continued Becken.
