Becken extends the lease for the Sylt healthcare property
  • Long-term contract until 2032 with mother and child clinic in Westerland
  • Investments in the substance and extension planned

Hamburg, January 30, 2019: The Hamburg-based real estate company Becken has signed a long-term lease agreement with Insel Klinik Sylt until 2032. The contract with the mother and child clinic in Westerland, which was acquired in January 2017, has thus been extended by a further ten years three years before expiry. Becken is planning to invest in the building fabric and an extension by the end of 2019 to ensure the sustainable development of the 5,600 square meter rental space.

Jens Hogekamp, Managing Director of Becken Asset Management GmbH, says: "We have found a reliable partner in the operator and are delighted about the long-term commitment. This will ensure that the wide range of spa services will continue in the future." Dieter Becken, Managing Partner of Becken Holding GmbH, adds: "We would like to continue our involvement on Sylt if specific opportunities arise. We see great potential in particular in the provision of smaller apartments that are suitable for the staff of Sylt businesses such as hotels, restaurants or the island clinic, for example."
