Becken extends lease agreement for Sylt healthcare property
  • Long-term contract until 2032 with mother-child clinic in Westerland
  • Investments in substance and expansion planned

Hamburg, 30 January 2019. The Hamburg real estate company Becken has concluded a long-term lease agreement with the island of Klinik Sylt until 2032. The contract with the mother-child clinic in Westerland, which was acquired in January 2017, will thus be extended by a further ten years three years before expiry. Becken plans to invest in the building substance and an extension by the end of 2019 in order to sustainably develop the 5,600 square metre rental area of the property.

Jens Hogekamp, Managing Director of Becken Asset Management GmbH, says: "With the operator we have found a reliable partner and are pleased about the long-term commitment. In this way, we ensure that the wide range of spa treatments will continue to be available in the future." Dieter Becken, managing partner of Becken Holding GmbH, adds: "We would like to continue our commitment on Sylt if concrete opportunities arise. We see great potential particularly in the provision of smaller apartments, which are suitable for the staff of Sylt businesses such as hotels, restaurants or for example the island clinic.
