Becken sells shares in Munich-based Competo to Körber Foundation

The real estate company Becken has sold its shares in the Munich-based investment and asset manager Competo Capital Partners GmbH to the Hamburg-based Körber Foundation. The foundation, which was established in 1959, has thus increased its stake in the investment company from 25 percent to 50 percent. The other half will remain unchanged with the managing partners and Competo founders Ralf Simon and Thomas Pscherer.
The shareholders decided to take this step in order to rule out any potential conflicts of interest with Dieter Becken from the Becken Group's nationwide project development activities and his simultaneous involvement in Competo Capital Partners, which provides capital to developers in Germany. "We have decided to take this step by mutual agreement in order to avoid any overlapping of interests," comments Dieter Becken. "As shareholders and investors, we look forward to further expanding our successful partnership with Competo in the coming years," says Dr. Thomas Paulsen, member of the Körner Foundation's Executive Board. "We would like to thank Mr. Becken for an extremely successful and long-standing partnership and are delighted about the Körber Foundation's further commitment, which will enable Competo to continue to successfully implement its growth strategy as an investment specialist for foundations and family offices," says Thomas Pscherer, Managing Partner of Competo Capital Partners.

Around 18 million euros are available annually for the Foundation's charitable work.
