Becken sells shares of Münchener Competo to Körber Foundation

The real estate company Becken has sold its shares in the Munich-based investment and asset manager Competo Capital Partners GmbH to the Körber Foundation in Hamburg. The foundation, established in 1959, is thus increasing its share in the investment company from 25 percent to 50 percent. The other half remains unchanged with the managing partners and Competo founders Ralf Simon and Thomas Pscherer.
The shareholders have decided to take this step in order to rule out possible conflicts of interest with Dieter Becken from the nationwide project development activities of the Becken Group and his simultaneous involvement in Competo Capital Partners, which supports developers in Germany as investors. "By mutual agreement, we have decided to take this step in order to avoid any possible overlapping of interests," comments Dieter Becken. "As a shareholder and investor, we look forward to further expanding our successful partnership with Competo in the coming years," says Dr. Thomas Paulsen, member of the Executive Board of the Körner Foundation. "We would like to thank Mr. Becken for an extremely successful and long-standing partnership and are pleased about the continued commitment of the Körber Foundation, with which Competo can continue to successfully implement its growth course as an investment specialist for foundations and family offices," says Thomas Pscherer, Managing Partner of Competo Capital Partners.

About the Körber Foundation

The entrepreneur and instigator Kurt A. Körber established the Körber Foundation in 1959. Today, the foundation is active nationally and internationally from its offices in Hamburg and Berlin. With its operational projects, in its networks and with cooperation partners, it faces up to current challenges in the fields of action of demographic change, innovation and international understanding. The Körber Foundation has assets of 563 million euros. This includes Körber AG, whose sole shareholder is the Foundation. Around 18 million euros are available annually for the foundation's charitable work.
