Hamburg / Munich, October 8, 2020 - The real estate company Becken, which operates throughout Germany, today laid the foundation stone for its "Hoch der Isar" residential project development in the Au-Haidhausen district of Munich together with Clemens Baumgärtner, Head of the Department of Labor and Economic Affairs of the City of Munich. An ensemble of 13 different buildings with a total of 185 high-quality condominiums will be built at Hochstrasse 75 by the turn of the year 2022/2023. The celebrations took place as a hybrid event with a small group of participants on site, in which over 350 participants were able to take part online via livestream.
The building construction work for the new construction project, which comprises a total of 15,160 square meters of living space, began back in September. Dieter Becken, Managing Partner of Becken Holding GmbH, says: "When we started to take a closer look at this location and the planning conditions, we quickly realized that this is not just any old building plot. The prominent location within Munich requires a sophisticated design solution. The renowned architectural firms su und z Architekten from Munich, RAPP+RAPP from Amsterdam and holger meyer architektur from Frankfurt and Munich are responsible for the designs." The latter will act as lead architect for all buildings. Becken adds: "In future, around 14,000 square meters of public
parking space will be available, while the car-free thoroughfare and a new streetcar stop will benefit all residents of the district." In his speech, Clemens Baumgärtner, Head of the Department of Labor and Economic Affairs of the City of Munich, particularly emphasized the joint planning process: "Hoch der Isar is an important construction project, as it achieves a lively and varied façade view with its 13 different buildings. The joint workshop process with a design advisory board of the City of Munich and Becken was thus able to achieve the optimum effect on the heterogeneity required by the development plan. The result is a residential project that blends in perfectly with the existing buildings on Hochstrasse."
The size of the future condominiums varies from 30 square meters to 330 square meters. The 185 apartments are divided into ten penthouse apartments, 88 city studios and culture apartments, 73 spacious city apartments, eleven garden apartments and three townhouses.
