- 104 one- and two-room apartments and 170 three- to four-room apartments
- Completion of construction planned for Q2 2021
Hamburg, 10 July 2019 - Yesterday, Hamburg-based project developer Becken laid the foundation stone for the "Charlie Mills Quarter" residential project. The partners involved in the project, Bayerische Ärzteversorgung, whose business is managed by the Bayerische Versorgungskammer, as the future owner, and the district manager of Wandsbek, Thomas Ritzenhoff, were present at the ceremony. By the second quarter of 2021, Becken is developing a free-standing new building with 274 apartments with a total lettable space of approximately 20,900 square metres on the approximately 14,200 square metre site at Friedrich-Ebert-Damm 243 / corner of Charlie-Mills-Strasse.
Dieter Becken, Managing Partner of Becken Holding GmbH, says: "It is a pleasure for me to see the 'Charlie-Mills Quartier' grow from now on. He adds: "In an intensive and constructive coordination process with the city, we have succeeded in creating an urban highlight here in Farmsen, directly on Hamburg's Green Ring. The lavishly designed open space will complement and enhance the existing greenery. With its special, smooth metal facade, the residential building will be a striking eye-catcher". Axel Uttenreuther, Member of the Board of Management of the Bavarian Chamber of Utilities, says: "This quarter will provide the future residents of the Farmsen district with attractive living space. Against the background of Hamburg's ever-increasing population, the 'Charlie Mills Quarter' is a promising investment for us.
In June 2019, Becken sold the project development to Bayerische Ärzteversorgung. The residential building comprises six full storeys as well as a staggered storey. 56 residential units are let at a reduced rent with a maximum rent of 9.50 euros per square metre. A total of 104 one- and two-room apartments and 170 three- to four-room apartments are planned. In the underground car park, 147 parking spaces are available to future tenants. In addition, a separate underground car park with 109 parking spaces will be built for the neighbour, the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord.
