Becken builds in prime Hamburg city center location and places half of the office space
with green energy provider before
construction starts

Hamburg, November 16, 2019. Becken, a specialist in the development, realization and long-term asset and investment management of commercial and residential properties, is further expanding its project development business in a central Hamburg city center location. To this end, Becken acquired a building plot of around 3,500 square meters in the Mitte district in November 2019, around a five-minute walk from the main train station. The seller of one of these last vacant city center plots is the City of Hamburg. Becken will construct the "ConneXion Office" building in the vicinity of the "Kunstmeile Hamburg" by 2022. The new ten-storey building at Klostertor
offers around 1,700 square meters of floor space per storey. Following the purchase of the property, 50 percent of the projected total rental space has already been pre-let to LichtBlick for more than ten years. The Hamburg-based energy supply company, which claims to offer 100% green electricity, will move into its new headquarters in the ConneXion Office in 2022. Construction at Klostertor is scheduled to begin at the turn of 2019/2020.

Deichtor-Center, the "ConneXion Office" has a high urban visibility.
At the same time, the new office building completes the quarter at Klostertor and
creates a new urban quality with campus and gastronomic offerings in the district location.
The design was created by Hamburg architects Störmer Murphy and Partners.
Becken attaches great importance to sustainability, comfort and networking in the "ConneXion Office".
Accordingly, the aim is to achieve gold certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The new building will also be one of the first office buildings in
Hamburg to have a Wired Score certificate, demonstrating its high level of Internet
connectivity. Stefan Spilker, Managing Director of Becken Holding
